Find a commercial on the internet or on the tv and write about iton the paper I gave you.

You need to 1. write down what commercial it is (example Wendy's commercial); 2. write the Target audience; 3. Write the purpose of the commercial (example to sell Wendy's hamburgers, "Where's the beef!); 4. Message- write about the message (example that Wendy's burgers have more beef than Mcdonald's and Burger King)

Grade 5
N.B Dear parents of Grade 5 students. Your child needs to be reading and writing cursive. Please write notes to them in cursive. In addition, I will be sending home a practice book tomorrow and your child needs to practice each day. If they were in my homeroom last year I taught them how to write in cursive but most are not using it. I WILL be writing in cursive to them this year, in my lessons and as feedback.
Find an advertisement in a magazine or in the newspaper for a product 
write down:

2. Purpose of commercial
3. Message


Wednesday

Grade 4 Reading homework :
Students are to first read the poem The Greatest
Next students are to explain why they think this child is writing this poem like this...
Next the students are to write a poem about themself as though they are The Greatest. What things would they say they are the greatest at....singing, dancing, soccer, hockey, reading, talking to their cat, brushing their dog!!
Grade 5 Reading homework :
Students are to read the poem We Are Plooters
Next,  the students are to answer the questions in full sentences which have been circled with the orange highlighter at the bottom of the page. The students are to NEATLY set up their page with the numbers for each question on the outside pink margin.
Please encourage that the students take their time and produce neat work with proper spelling. We are using dictionaries in class to encourage proper spelling and researching of how to properly spell.

Thursday don't forget the Richmond fair is tomorrow. Pack lunches, hat, sunscreen and a water bottle. Also, no money can be spent at the fair unless it is for water! 
Grade 4
Math homework: adding cards
Using a deck of cards, students are to add cards and then continue to add them until they get to the end of the deck. Please encourage no fingers just patience and getting used to the number patterns such as when the ones column is 7 and 3 it will always equal ten, the  same as 8 and 2, 9 and 1, 6 and 4

Cursive writing to be completed if it was not passed in today

Grade 5
