Homework for the week of April 29 - May 3

Homework this week for both grade levels is a daily practice of multiplication facts and proof of this practice. This is their ticket to free time on Friday!

Grade 4's are ready to multiply double by single digits with the help of a multiplication chart! Practice, practice, practice!!

Grade 5's are ready to practice Mean, median and mode for their test next week. Please give your child a set of numbers and have them figure out the mean (average), median (middle) and mode (most often)

Last week the students were tested in their knowledge of "all things fractions"! Some students studied and some did not. Sadly, those who did not study struggled with the test. For the parents' information, in class, we hammered the information with practice, practice practice. Some issues were the lack of knowledge with multiplication facts. All children had access to a multiplication chart if they felt so inclined. However, knowing one's multiplication facts is a must in grade five so this will be recorded in report card comments.

This week we will review data management as we had taken it up at the beginning of this term. Once reviewed the students will be writing another test next week demonstrating their knowledge on data management and creating accurate graphs according to the curriculum expectations for their grade levels. Study always helps.

Stay tuned for some sample tests for both grade 4 and grade 5 students.
